Bouncing Back

This past weekend Delong Motorsports traveled to Dundee, NY to conquer the Black Rock Speedway in what was the final appearance for the 1n at Black Rock this year. Nate Delong would start 14th in the feature and manage to race his way to 7th before hitting the wall on the front stretch that would put the Troupes Creek Auto Parts 1n to the back. As the laps bewindled Nate Delong would come across the finish line in 12th. The next night however would be a different story. Back at the Woodhull Raceway, Delong Motorsports back yard, and tonight was the night to bounce back. As both Eric and Nate Delong would race, the feature would only be able to handle one Delong as Eric failed to qualify for the feature as brother Nate won his heat guaranteeing him a spot in the feature. Nate would start 10th in the feature and for him this starting spot put him in the middle of the pack, good or bad. Good because Nate would take advantage of this spot and charge his way up to second to bring home what was his 3rd second place finish this year. Be sure to make your way to Woodhull Raceway next as Delong Motorsports will race 2 features, the regular scheduled one and a make up from last week.

Update From Black Rock

The 1N machine of Nate Delong took a spill just two laps into the feature and was not able make its way back out onto the track as the pit crew worked tremendously to try and put the car back together just to get it in the trailer. The team hopes to have the car ready for tonight's race at the Woodhull Raceway.

Fighting to Stay Alive

This past Sunday Delong Motorsports heading back over to Woodhull Raceway for the 2nd time in less than 24 hours to hopefully try and get the race's in before mother nature struck again. Well mother nature did hold off for Woodhull to get the races in and it turned out to be a nice day. With only 23 cars in the Crate Sportsman class present that would mean every car there would be able to make the show. Eric Delong's Mandi Land Inc. 2E found itself sitting in the 3rd spot for the feature while the Troupes Creek Auto 1N of Nate Delong found itself sitting in the 8th spot. When the green flag dropped for the 30 lap feature race every team new patience was the key. It seemed everyone was being patient until they noticed Nate Delong powering is 1N machine down the straightways and into the corners, you could tell this man was on a mission. Meanwhile, Eric Delong fell from his 3rd starting spot to back in the pack, where little brother Nate drove by him knowing that he was the only hope of putting a Delong Motorsports car in Victory lane. As Eric began to fall back Nate managed to work his way into the top 5. Up front there was a battle brewing as Grant Hilfiger and Zack Sutton battle for 1st, while Ray Smith fought a charging Nate Delong. Nate proved to be to much for Ray Smith as Nate would pass Smith with only about 3 laps to go. Eric was going down without a fight either as he managed to battle his way back up to the 13 position. "Overall it was a good race and the way Eric was racing today it wont be long before he wins his first race," Nate Delong quoted about his brother. The team will be back in action this Friday as Nate Delong will once again test is luck at Black Rock Speedway in Dundee New York. Eric and Nate will both be in action this saturday as they make the trip back to Woodhull Raceway. Also this Saturday is the ULMS Late Model Reunion at the high banks of the Woodhull Raceway.

On Saturday July 18, Delong Motorsports will make there return back to Woodhull raceway. Last week Woodhull did not have the Crate Sportsman class and therefor Delong Motorsports went to compete at Woodhull's Neighboring track, Clinton County Speedway. There should be alot of action this Saturday as Nate Delong continues to hunt for a 2nd victory of 2009, while keeping his point position alive. Eric will be back in action as well after taking last week off and hopes to regain some momentum and work his way up into the top 10. Second Two Weeks in a Row

In only his second visit to Clinton County Raceway, Nate Delong was a man on a mission. Nate started 5th in his heat and afer a few caution laps and some "fast track" dirt track racing, Nate battle to finish 3rd. After some "nascar" like pit strategy, the team decided to bump up the stakes and take a gamble with a bigger right rear tire to place more byte on the rear off the car. Nate would start 5th once again in the feature, but this time he planned on charging right to the front, boy did he! After about 10 laps and a few cautions Nate found himself sitting in 3rd with Dirt Legend Billy "the kid" Van Pelt leading, and Casey Pavlick in second. Nate would battle the rest of the race with Pavlick eventually working his way past him with about 4 laps to go to place him in second. But Van Pelt looked to be to smooth for Nate, when the checkered dropped giving Van Pelt the win and Nate his 2nd consecutive second place finish in 2 weeks. Nate and big brother Eric will be back in action next week at the Woodhull Raceway.
