Second Two Weeks in a Row

In only his second visit to Clinton County Raceway, Nate Delong was a man on a mission. Nate started 5th in his heat and afer a few caution laps and some "fast track" dirt track racing, Nate battle to finish 3rd. After some "nascar" like pit strategy, the team decided to bump up the stakes and take a gamble with a bigger right rear tire to place more byte on the rear off the car. Nate would start 5th once again in the feature, but this time he planned on charging right to the front, boy did he! After about 10 laps and a few cautions Nate found himself sitting in 3rd with Dirt Legend Billy "the kid" Van Pelt leading, and Casey Pavlick in second. Nate would battle the rest of the race with Pavlick eventually working his way past him with about 4 laps to go to place him in second. But Van Pelt looked to be to smooth for Nate, when the checkered dropped giving Van Pelt the win and Nate his 2nd consecutive second place finish in 2 weeks. Nate and big brother Eric will be back in action next week at the Woodhull Raceway.
