Fighting to Stay Alive

This past Sunday Delong Motorsports heading back over to Woodhull Raceway for the 2nd time in less than 24 hours to hopefully try and get the race's in before mother nature struck again. Well mother nature did hold off for Woodhull to get the races in and it turned out to be a nice day. With only 23 cars in the Crate Sportsman class present that would mean every car there would be able to make the show. Eric Delong's Mandi Land Inc. 2E found itself sitting in the 3rd spot for the feature while the Troupes Creek Auto 1N of Nate Delong found itself sitting in the 8th spot. When the green flag dropped for the 30 lap feature race every team new patience was the key. It seemed everyone was being patient until they noticed Nate Delong powering is 1N machine down the straightways and into the corners, you could tell this man was on a mission. Meanwhile, Eric Delong fell from his 3rd starting spot to back in the pack, where little brother Nate drove by him knowing that he was the only hope of putting a Delong Motorsports car in Victory lane. As Eric began to fall back Nate managed to work his way into the top 5. Up front there was a battle brewing as Grant Hilfiger and Zack Sutton battle for 1st, while Ray Smith fought a charging Nate Delong. Nate proved to be to much for Ray Smith as Nate would pass Smith with only about 3 laps to go. Eric was going down without a fight either as he managed to battle his way back up to the 13 position. "Overall it was a good race and the way Eric was racing today it wont be long before he wins his first race," Nate Delong quoted about his brother. The team will be back in action this Friday as Nate Delong will once again test is luck at Black Rock Speedway in Dundee New York. Eric and Nate will both be in action this saturday as they make the trip back to Woodhull Raceway. Also this Saturday is the ULMS Late Model Reunion at the high banks of the Woodhull Raceway.
